Couple celebrates 66th wedding anniversary for just $15.75

Couple Celebrates 66th Wedding Anniversary For Just $15.75

Toni and Joe have been married 66 years and spent their honeymoon night at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. To celebrate their anniversary, they went back to the same hotel and paid only $15.75, the price of their original room back in 1948. The rate for that same room today starts at $799.

Turns out any couple married at the Waldorf that is celebrating 50 years or more together can take advantage of the same offer as long as they have their original receipt.

Bridal Guide reports that the Waldorf has a little-known policy that allows couples to celebrate for the same price they originally paid. Another couple celebrated 60 years back in 2010 and the hotel honored their $26.72 receipt from 1950.

We wish both couples many more happy, healthy years together. And if you are married at the hotel ... save that receipt!

What a great story! Cheers to the couple(s) and kudos to the Waldorf-Astoria! It's a nice policy to hear about in this day and age.

I think ANY hotel should do this for couples that are together for that long!

My parents spent their honeymoon at the Woldorf Estoria and my dad died 3 months before thier 60th anniversary. That is really sweet for that couple.

In 2000, my husband and I celebrated our 50th at The Waldorf, fortunately we had our receipt from our wedding night at the hotel. The hotel gave us a suite for $13.50. It pays to keep receipts.

Did you know about the hotel's policy and that's why you kept the receipt? Or was it just a coincidence that you kept the receipt for sentimental value?

I still have my employee I.D. card which entitled me to 2 free meals a day. It was a great place to work!

That is nice what the hotel is doing but seriously they expect people to have receipt from 50 years ago. Get real
