Police say 4 bodies found in California home

Four People, Including 2 Children, Found Dead In Home

FONTANA, Calif. (AP) - Four people, two of them children, were found killed in a Southern California home, police said.

A 16-year-old boy called police Monday night to say his family members were injured or killed in the house, Fontana police Sgt. Doug Imhof said.

Police arrived to find a bloody scene with the bodies of a boy about 10 years old, a girl about 12 years old and a man and woman each about 35 or 40 years old, Imhof told KNBC-TV and KABC-TV.

Fontana police Chief Rodney Jones told KNBC that the deaths were homicides.

It appeared all four lived in the home, Imhof said, but police did not immediately say what their relationships were.

Detectives found the bodies and blood spread throughout the house, but had stopped the investigation while they sought a search warrant, police Imhof said.

"There is some amounts of blood in different areas of the house," Imhof told KABC. "There's a couple of weapons that have been seen by our detectives just looking, but they haven't been able to search the house because they can't until they obtain a search warrant."

Beyond his mention of the weapons, Imhof gave no indication of how the people may have been killed or who the killer may have been, and it was not clear why a warrant was needed.

Neighbor Jessica Arauz told KABC there was arguing coming from the house earlier in the evening.

Phone messages left with police by The Associated Press were not immediately returned.

The home is in Fontana, a city of about 200,000 people in San Bernardino County about 50 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

And I am relocating to Fontana next month? Do I need to apply for a house searching warrant?

They need a search warrant when there's 4 bodies? Something is wrong with the law when there is visible evidence of a crime committed. In NM they will shut down interstate highway for 12 hours if there is an auto accident with a death. The cops stand around and drink coffee and BS for hours while a few photos are taken and measurements are completed for the accident investigators. I wonder if they have any idea how much commerce they disrupt and what the cost is to the people who are incovenienced like the hundreds of semi trucks that are lined up for miles. I wish these cops would figure out that they are working for the people of the state and that the people are the ones that are paying their salary.

I agree,in Japan if there is an accident on a freeway they send out a copter that takes a picture of the schene that shows all the measurements, then a second copter comes along picks up the car and sets it on a side street & the injured are taken to a hospital by helicopter. in us it takes 10 hrs. to clean a schene. overtime is nice..

With the 16 year old boy saying family members were injured or killed why did the police need a search warrent? Sounds like "probable cause" for a thorough search to me. Did they check to see if there was any signs of life left in any of the victims before leaving the scene for a stupid search warrant?

It appears this was a murder-suicide, according to ABC news. When I am interested in a story from HP, I try to look up other sources for a more complete story

"A 16-year old boy called police Monday night to say his family members were injured or killed in the house".

The article didn't report it as such but at the time of the call that 16-year old boy was the primary suspect or at least a person of interest......and probably still is.

The video states that the family members from Los Angeles drove to the home in Fontana because they couldn't reach the Fontana family members. The kid from LA entered the house and found his dead family members. But he didn't live there.

Confusing article! Did the 16 year old boy survive his family's tragedy?

Why do these dumb asses do it, why can't they except their relationships are over. This is the worst EMS call to ever go on, please pray for those who responded to this call, they will never be the same. (A.M.R.) hang in there you did your job and God will remember you.
