Worst sports injuries of 2013

The year in sports was messy, especially in the injury department, where no major franchise was spared a visit to the team trainer and an extended stint on the reserve list. While being an athlete comes with its share of professional hazards, there were some truly gruesome moments this year that not only damaged the bones, joints and tendons of some of our favorite players but took a huge toll on the rest of the team too. From Rob Gronkowski's season ending injury to the perhaps irreversible damage Marc Staal suffered after taking a speeding hockey puck to the eye, here are our picks for the year's most cringe-worthy injuries.

I work in an emergency department and often wondered how people can function in life. After you speak with them they will make your eyes roll back and them cause your head to explode.

I am not a fan of the Patriots, but I must admit that their coach in his Hoody has done a good
job to keep them in the Hunt after all of the season's turn of events and the loss of good
players through Criminal charges and Injuries, and trades.

GO DENVER BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All this Posturing about the 'HORRORS" of Professional Sports injuries is a Joke. ---------------People LOVE this stuff. They don't go to Nascar races to watch the cars go Round and Round. They go to see them Crash into a Hundred peices. It's what makes Ultimate Fighting so Popular today. They Might actually get to see someones BRAINS get splattered all over the Canvas.

Not any more! : (

His showboating got him knocked out in his first fight with Weidman and I'd say that his horrific leg break on Saturday was karma for all his previous showboating.

When you start acting like a clown in the Octagon you disrespect your opponent and the sport of MMA in general, not to mention alienating many fans.

Matt Hughes said it best: "Showboating! I HATE it!"
