NH volunteer arrives at crash that killed daughter

Firefighter Arrives At Fatal Crash, Finds Daughter Is Victim

BROOKLINE, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire volunteer firefighter arrived at the scene of a deadly car crash only to realize his daughter was the victim.

Thirty-year-old Katie Hamilton of Brookline was killed in the accident around 9 a.m. Christmas Eve at the intersection of Routes 13 and 130. The mother of three young daughters worked as a plumber for her father Steve Whitcomb's business.

Brookline Police Sgt. Douglas Barnett says Hamilton was southbound on Route 13 preparing to turn left when a truck driven by 31-year-old Greg Cullen of Milford hit the rear of her car and sent it into the northbound lane. She was then broadsided by a Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by 37-year-old James Ciprotti of Weare. Neither man was injured.

My heart just sunk when I read this story. My deepest condolences to the family and friends. Your daughter will be in my prayers. At this point no words can help but somewhere in the middle of all your emotions please know people care even if you don't know us. Hugs.

It's never right to lose a child of any age. May god have mercy on their souls.

This is so sad - I wish people would slow down, drive offensively and defensively; you are not the only person on the road and it is not any more important for you to get where you are going than the other drivers - it makes me so mad when I am going the speed limit (and unfortunately over the speed limit at times to keep from being hit) and someone rides my bumper - get up earlier to go to work, start earlier to your destination so you want have to TRY to make up time, The life you save my be your own!
