ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) - A Delta jet headed to Atlanta has slid off a taxiway at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. No one was hurt.

Delta Air Lines spokesman Morgan Durrant (duh-RANT') says the plane "may have hit some black ice," before sliding from the taxiway on to a grassy area around 6:40 a.m. Monday.

Durrant says all 180 passengers safely got off the plane and have been re-booked on a flight scheduled to take off later in the day.

The passengers have been taken back to the terminal by bus.

Durrant says Delta technicians are working to move and inspect the aircraft.

Sorry..... my daughter and I flew Spirit Airlines out of Detroit to Dallas the weekend ice hit in Dallas. Landed on the ONE landing runway that was clear...taxied on 4 inches of ice to the terminal without a scratch! I'm proud of our American Pilots....They do a great job and should be commended for it, and Thank You Spirit.

Airplanes taking off and landing in Hawaii will never have this problem.

I am in Japan and flew here via Delta, I felt very safe for the 14 hour straight flight. This was during the first NY snowstorm. We had to be de-iced because the plane was also skidding off. Not too bad compare to all those cars that skid of the road, turned over, and I'm sure lost of life was also a problem. I am flying back on delta, but Jesus will care for me, the same way he did getting here. Christmas is about Jesus, not santa claus. Be all bless. Tell someome you love them today.
