Unlikely Animal Friendships That Will Warm Your Heart

While we can't recommend putting your adorable piglets in contact with your adorable tiger cubs, sometimes the universe goes ahead and surprises us with the most heartwarming interspecies friendships and shows us that companionship might just override what we thought we knew about the food chain.

That would be Leo the Lion, Shere Kan the Tiger and Baloo the Bear or Noah’s Ark Sanctuary, Locust Grove, GA. www.noahs-ark.org. Three unlikely brothers that could teach the world about loving and getting along.

Great pictures! I remember when I was a young child on the farm, we found a baby skunk whose mother was killed. We took the skunk home and raised it but couldn't get it de-scented. But it never attempted to spray us or our dogs and cats. In fact my dog was death on skunks in the wild after once getting sprayed right in his face. But he seemed to know this one was a pet and actuall played with our pet skunk. Finally the skunk left us and went to the fields to never come home. It was a great experience for two years.

An adult dog playing with a monkey. Now I know I haven't seen it all. Great!

Left to their own devices and given an environment where survival is not an issue it appears the lower animals do a better job of getting along than we humans do.

Fabulous - see how animals can teach humans to be friends without prejudice - just simple unconditional acceptance and love - this came out in the proper time of the year!

And they are all good eating. I had roast dog in Africa and pigged out on it...yum yum.

So you took a great heart-warming topic, showing the power of friendship, and turned it into cold-hearted proof that some people are lower than dirt and inferior to all animals. Real shame YOU weren't the one eaten in Africa, jerk.

With all the trouble and worry in the world today, these pictures made all your problems go away for a while. Precious, just precious.

Kind of amazing....two animals that most of the time, would try to eat each other can get along, but most people can't....kind of makes you say, "hmmm...."

"...but most people can't..." Why do people keep saying that? Of course people get along. Most of the time we get along just fine, and once in a while we do a really bang-up good job of it.

I don't understand our species tendency to self-deprecation. Are we just trying to be humble or do we honestly value ourselves so poorly.

I'm assuming you never read the newspaper, or any printed material as well as never watch the news.

Well, let's see . . . on this same page there are some nice articles, but there is also an article about a baby that needs organ reconstruction after being raped and a story about a man who has a lot but it wasn't enough so he kept three women as sex slaves, and a story of a 911 dispatcher who told a rape victim to stop crying. Sure humans have their moments but they can often be pretty "inhuman."
