Planning to ring in 2014, Vegas style? Better start firming up those plans, pronto. Scoring last-minute tickets to the hottest New Year's Eve concerts, shows and parties can be difficult unless you're on "the list." And you don't want to wind up seeing Tony Orlando sing "Knock Three Times" to the blue-hairs at the South Point Casino Ballroom, do you? Didn't think so.

With Cirque du Soleil spectacles, pop music headliners and countless nightclub and bar parties, you're going to need help narrowing down the choices. Here are five events sure to usher in the new year with dance beats, oceans of booze and -- in some cases -- more than a few unintended laughs.

5. Lil Jon at Wynn Las Vegas

Raise a blinged-out pimp chalice to 2014 with rapper Lil Jon at the Wynn resort's Tryst nightclub. The crunk juice will be flowing as Lil Jon spins in the new year with a guest DJ set sure to be peppered with plenty of "Whaat?!" and "Yeeaahh-ah!" (lyrics NSFW).

4. New Year's Everything 2014 at The Stratosphere

The Strat's annual tower-top bash doesn't exactly rank high on the Strip's hip meter, yet amply makes up for its lack of superstar EDM DJs and celebrity hosts with the best views in town. Downing Jägerbombs more than 1,100 feet above Las Vegas Boulevard you'll have a primo view of all The Strip's midnight fireworks shows from three separate party areas on four levels. Just want to do a romantic dinner? Book a table at the revolving Top of the World Restaurant.

3. Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood

Party like it's 2001 at Brit-Brit's new "Britney: Piece of Me" extravaganza, which kicks off a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in late December. To welcome in 2014 with the queen of lip-synch teen pop, you'll have to "Work B*tch" (lyrics NSFW). At last check, NYE cheap seats were sold out, though pricey Platinum Tickets and $2,500 meet-and-greet packages are still up for grabs. Gentlemen, here's your big chance to ask Ms. Spears for her hand in marriage.

2. Downtown Countdown New Year's Eve 2014

Did someone say Loverboy? We're SO there! The early 80s rock band of "Working for the Weekend" fame is slated to kick off the NYE festivities at downtown's outdoor Fremont Street Experience. Later, a set by Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe promises to have heads a-bangin' and devil horns a-flashin'. Fremont's overhead Viva Vision canopy will feature a virtual fireworks show. Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman leads the drunken masses in the midnight countdown. The Fremont Street Experience is usually free, but on NYE it'll cost you $40.

1. Bruno Mars at The Cosmopolitan

A month before Bruno Mars hits the halftime stage at Super Bowl XLVIII, the pop star will christen Cosmo's new concert venue The Chelsea with a pair of shows on December 29 and 31. The gigs are sold out, but eBay and StubHub sellers will gladly get you in the door for a marked-up price. Don't have that kind of scratch? Mars' NYE concert will be streamed live on Cosmo's digital Strip-front marquee.
