Activision Blizzard Is No. 1 -- Again

This was supposed to be a painful year for Activision Blizzard . Two of its tentpole franchises are under direct attack, while its World of Warcraft cash cow continues to age. But things have been going just fine for this dominant game publisher.

In the video below, Fool contributor Demitrios Kalogeropoulos discusses the latest video game sales data from research firm NPD. The figures show that, despite Electronic Arts' best efforts with Battlefield 4, Call of Duty remains the top shooter franchise across all platforms in November. And Disney's massive challenge to the Skylanders brand appears to have come up short as well, leaving Activision's leadership position intact heading into a new year and a new generation of consoles.
