Peyton Manning Named 2013 'Sportsman Of The Year' By Sports Illustrated

Peyton Manning is Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year.

Manning has led Denver to an 11-3 record this year, his second with the Broncos after missing the 2011 season with Indianapolis because of neck troubles that affected his right triceps. He has thrown 47 touchdown passes, three shy of Tom Brady's NFL season record.

Manning is the fourth NFL quarterback to take the honor in the last nine years, following Brady in 2005, Brett Favre in 2007 and Drew Brees in 2010. LeBron James was the winner last year.

Peyton is 'da man! I am so excited that he came here to Denver. Football has been so much more exciting. His work ethic is unparalleled. With him leading I think we can make it to the Super Bowl. Let's go!

What a great choice. Peyton Manning is more than a great quarterback. He is a totally class guy who exhibits the best in his sport on the field and off. Can't think of a more deserving person. Brady, Brees, and yes, even Favre....all quality quarterbacks and men. Don't forget Aaron Rogers...he'll join this lists one of these days!!!

AN OBSERVSATION : IF there is anyone who deserves this prestigheous honor more i do not know whow it would be. Consider the following cutn by the colts because of theren obligation to pay him $26,000,.000.., ISRAYS EXCUSE his injuries????????????????? enter free for all to get MANNING. JOHN ELWAY emerges as the winner. FOR THE denver broncos it could have not gotten any better.AT AGE 37 and being thenkind of frofessional study approach to the game it would only follow that he is doing what heb does so very well, Manning you truly deserve where you are at in your storied carrer . KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YOU DO SO WELL.

Peyton's total body of work, from his UT days till today, show that he is a fine gentleman, both in football and in private life. He is most deserving, and it's nice that he is finally being recognized as one of the great sportsman of his generation.

Peyton has always been the consummate professional & the hardest working athlete today. The true desire to win is evident! Everyone with any sort of athletic brain knows that Peyton was the real Heisman winner in his senior year at UT. Woodson could not even compete on the same scale statistical and wins as a player, plus academics! His critics always disliked his ability to comeback when the odds were not good! He will go down as the greatest QB to ever play the game! Now, just a note about super bowl wins...... The QB doesn't win the super bowl, the team wins the super bowl.... It take a total team effect from everyone to win... Peyton will always have his critics due to his unbelievable talent and his pedigree! All I have to say, is get over it that all other players that people think should have won this award, evidently didn't make the cut according to the professionals responsible for this award! Congrads to Peyton!

Prior to his coming to Denver, I was not a fan of Mr. Manning, but when he began to get the local exposure and we learned a small portion of his personal profile, I realized what a consumate professional this man really is. He likely knows more about the game of football than anyone in the NFL, coaches included.

Peyton has had a storied NFL career despite only winning one superbowl.
He will go down in history as one of the greatest QB's of all time.
He really needs another ring though, and this year is as good as any for him to get that second ring. Peyton is the ultimate workhorse and professional.
