Wearable technologies, such as activity trackers and Google Glass, have only recently hit the market, but the potential for these emerging products to disrupt the health-care industry is enormous. These devices may already seem advanced, but as sensor technology and big data processing continue to improve, products such as the Fitbit will undoubtedly evolve into more sophisticated devices that can track more aspects of human health.

To gain more insight into Fitbit's long-term vision and what activity trackers might look like in the future, our health-care team spoke with Amy McDonough, Fitbit's director of business development, at this year's mHealth Summit.
