- Paula Deen
Celebrity chef Paula Deen was accused of racism at her restaurant in Savannah, GA in 2013. After a series of mis-steps, Deen went on the 'Today Show' to plead her case. The jury is still out on whether Paula can salvage her image in 2014.
- Manti Te'o
Football player Manti Te'o and his 'girlfriend' made headlines in 2013 after it appeared that Te'o was duped into believing his girlfriend was real, even though he had never seen her. After sticking by 'her' side for long enough, Te'o appeared on the 'Katie Couric' to reveal it was all fake.
- Lance Armstrong
In 2013, cyclist Lance Armstrong admitted to doping publicly for the first time. After having most of his championships revoked, Armstrong continues to repair his image.
- Thamsanqa Jantjie
President Barack Obama waves standing next to the sign language interpreter after making his speech at the memorial service for former South African president Nelson Mandela at the FNB Stadium in Soweto near Johannesburg. South Africa's deaf federation said that the interpreter on stage for Mandela memorial was a 'fake.'
- Anthony Weiner
Destined for stardom (or at least the Mayor's office), Anthony Weiner's fate came crashing down when he accidentally sent a lewd text to his Twitter followers instead of its intended recipient, a 21-year-old woman from Seattle. What's now known as 'Weinergate' resulted in the resignation of the accomplished Congressman. Weiner later ran unsuccessfully for New York City mayor.
Beyonce sings the National Anthem at the ceremonial swearing-in for President Barack Obama at the U.S. Capitol during the 57th Presidential Inauguration however, it became evident quickly that the singer was in fact lip-synching.
The IRS came under fire from Democrats and Republicans in Congress when one of its officials publicly apologized for targeting conservative groups' applications for tax-exempt status for close examination.

Former National Security Agency systems analyst Edward Snowden speaks during a presentation ceremony for the Sam Adams Award in Moscow, Russia where Snowden now lives in exile. Snowden leaked classified NSA documents which are still being unearthed today.
