The best shot I have ever seen is the whale underneath the whale watchers' boat. Those sneaky leviathans! We better look out for them!

The picture of the year has to be the one that's not here........the one of Baumgarten just before he takes his 7 mile freefall with planet Earth in the background.....I've seen no better picture this year...

Yes, I agree! The picture of Felix Baumgarten about to jump from the edge of space was actually featured as "The Best Picture of The Year" in Sports Illustrated! The picture was taken by Jay Nemeth of Flightline Films of Las Vegas.

It would have been nice if they explained what the pictures represent.

Yeah... that would have been good to know. I always have mixed feelings about pics like these whose photographers could have been doing something ELSE besides capturing a moment on film.

Very few of those photos were "awe inspiring". Disappointing

Question? Why is there a Thai policeman saluting to anti-government protesters? Should we assume that no pro government Thai's live where this photo is being shown> IF the Thai government gets this picture what is the "guess" of how long this military person will be alive? Cover UP his face, Hide the face, or, just do not publish the face. Be safe
