Assassin's Creed 4 DLC Hints at AC5 Location
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag has been well-received by fans and Ubisoft is expecting to follow that reception up with new DLC for the title. Freedom Cry will be the second add-on DLC for AC4, featuring Edward Kenway's first mate Adewale fifteen years after the ending of the game. The DLC will be a lengthy single-player campaign that will focus more on Assassin/Templar conflict than AC4 did.
"You're going to a new setting with new crowd life," Freedom Crycreative director Wesley Pincombe told Eurogamer. "New enemies, new AI. Port-au-Prince is a French colony - there are no French colonies in Black Flag so that is all new. This is primarily an Adéwalé story - Edward isn't present - but we do shoot a couple of lines back and forth with him reminiscing about his past."
Even better, Freedom Cry will have hints as to the setting of the next Assassin's Creed, which is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Ubisoft Toronto.
"There are some [hints], but our fans will only discover them in the future," Pincombe teased. "They're in your face, but you'd have to be a hardcore fan to understand them."
Ubisoft has sent out a survey to Assassin's Creed fans asking them where they want the series to move in the future. The survey - obtained by IGN - also asks players if they want AC4's pirate theme to move into a separate series...
