Let me say first off, I have little sympathy for the cop but the prosecutors also say he did not hit anyone, but his presence there means he was actively participating. He did not report his presence at he incident for three days. The violent encounter was made public almost immediately. Now if he was undercover with the group, one could understand his reluctance to ID himself. But it appears he was not, then his obligation was to take action if he was armed.
