Because of Wall Street, New York state is the center of the financial universe. As such, it should come as little surprise that megabanks headquartered there, such as JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup , rule the roost.

But there is more to the state than the titans of Wall Street, evidenced by the success of Buffalo-headquartered M&T Bank Corp .
