Any way you look at it, an investment in Royal Dutch Shell over the past couple of years has been a disappointment. For the company to really turn it around, it will need to focus its attention on one key aspect of its project portfolio: liquefied natural gas. While Chevron and ExxonMobil may have big plans for LNG as well, Shell has a very long history in the game and its newest innovation, the Prelude floating LNG facility, could be a game changer for remote offshore natural gas projects.
