$3.2 Million Producer Group Returns to Securities America

Leading advisory programs, culture bring Maier & Associates back

LA VISTA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Financial advisor Wayne Maier has become a registered representative with independent broker-dealer Securities America Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. (NYSE MKT: LTS).

Maier and his talented team joined Securities America in 2002 but left in 2007 to pursue a unique opportunity with another broker-dealer. After spending several years with National Planning Corporation, Maier and his team realized they missed the culture of their prior broker-dealer and needed the strengths of Securities America to continue their business growth, including the use of the Managed Opportunities asset management program.

"We came back to Securities America because of the relationships we built while we were there," Maier said. "These relationships never really ended even after our departure, because we stayed in contact. We love the culture at Securities America and always have, so now it is like being gone for a long time and finally coming home."

Maier moved his $414 million financial practice, Maier & Associates Financial Group, Inc., of Bay City, Mich., back to Securities America Sept. 20. Today the practice includes six advisors and five staff members, and generates an annual revenue of $3.2 million.

"I think we all are looking forward to renewing our relationships and making them even stronger than they were before we left in 2007," Maier said. "In addition, we want to be a meaningful part of the Securities American team and look forward to assisting them in growing their brand as they help us build ours."

"We are proud to welcome Wayne Maier back to the Securities America family," said Gregg Johnson, senior vice president of branch office development and acquisitions. "Through open communication, former advisors can see the continued growth of our company and learn firsthand of our advances in technology and advisory platforms. This, coupled with a culture that we value greatly, seems to have become a trend that can draw an advisor back to our firm, such as the case most recently with Wayne Maier and in June with Shannon Case and Mark Slattery."

Maier joined the financial services industry in insurance in 1973. With the vision to create a comprehensive financial services firm, Maier established Maier & Associates Financial Group, Inc. in 1984, with a team of financial and insurance consultants and strategic alliances with accountants, estate planners and attorneys. Three decades later, Maier & Associates has expanded to serve clients throughout the U.S., creating and managing complete financial plans designed to help clients move toward financial freedom.

Maier holds Series 7, 63 and 66 securities licenses and life, health and variable contracts licenses. For more information about Maier and Associates Financial Services, or the wide range of financial products and services Maier provides, call (800) 282-4503.
