DonorsChoose.org Launches CA Technologies Double Your Impact STEM Campaign to Boost Education

Donation Fosters Education and Future IT Leadership

ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CA Technologies (NAS: CA) today announced its continuing support for DonorsChoose.org, which advances science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education initiatives in underserved schools. Through company donations, DonorsChoose.org rolled out the CA Technologies Double Your Impact STEM Campaign to schools across the country. The funding will provide access to valuable learning materials, books and resources.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, STEM jobs are projected to grow twice as quickly as jobs in other fields over the next five years.

Partnerships between businesses like CA Technologies and nonprofits like DonorsChoose.org are helping to provide students with the education and skills required to fulfill the needs of the future workforce.

"Thanks to CA Technologies, over 5,000 students will receive the STEM classroom materials they need to learn and thrive," said Charles Best, Founder of DonorsChoose.org. "Hundreds of teachers across the country will receive the microscopes, graphing calculators, robotics kits and more to instruct and improve the overall learning experience of their students."

DonorsChoose.org, also a CA Technologies customer, enables teachers to submit funding requests for specific classroom projects and materials. Individuals and organizations can browse requests, make donations to projects that interest them and receive photos and thank-you notes from the classroom.

"We are excited to continue our partnership with DonorsChoose.org and support the important work they are doing to bring resources to underserved schools through CA Technologies Double Your Impact STEM Campaign," said Erica Christensen, vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility, CA Technologies. "Expanding STEM learning is a top priority for our company. Through this initiative our goal is to ensure teachers and students have the tools they need to succeed."

CA Technologies has contributed $150,000 overall to DonorsChoose.org initiatives. This year's contribution of $50,000 will be allocated to matching STEM focused classroom project requests on the DonorsChoose.org website from high-need schools throughout Arizona, California, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
