Mara Hoffman's parade of prints for Spring '14

If there's one designer who routinely marches to the beat of her own drum at New York Fashion Week, it's Mara Hoffman. Her collections are always full of vivid, bright colors, and wild tribal prints. It's not surprising that her signature maxi dresses and bathing suits are summertime staples.

This collection may be one of our favorites from Mara -- ever. "Happiness, optimism, prosperity, color, rainbows," Mara said to us backstage, when asked what her inspiration this year was. "It's more about what colors did we not use."

The colorful, woven Guatemalan-inspired belts, cutout maxi dresses, embroidered sheer tops, printed one-piece bathing suits, and lace-up sandals that were sent down the runway made us want to take a tropical vacation (and then buy everything from the collection and pack it in our bags) immediately.
