Intellicheck Mobilisa Receives Additional U.S. Army-Wide Authority to Operate (ATO) for Defense ID ®
Recertification Allows Defense ID to Continue to Be Used at U.S. Army Bases Where Currently Deployed and to Be Deployed at Additional Bases
PORT TOWNSEND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (NYSE MKT: IDN), a global leader in identity solutions and wireless security systems, announced that the U.S. Army has reapproved and recertified the company's latest version of its Defense ID® product for Authority to Operate (ATO). The Army originally granted an ATO for Defense ID to the company in 2009, as did the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps.
The Army-wide recertification allows installations where Defense ID is currently deployed to continue to access the benefits of the system, while allowing the company to offer it for deployment at additional bases. Defense ID screens individuals prior to arriving at a base, runs a "bad guy" check against watch lists, and identifies an individual as authorized to enter a base.
"The U.S. Army's decision to recertify the ATO for Defense ID indicates that the Army has performed a thorough security and vulnerability assessment and found our system to be secure. We believe this decision is a testament to the enduring value and importance of the Defense ID system," said Dr. Nelson Ludlow, CEO of Intellicheck Mobilisa. "This newest version of Defense ID has several new security features and is more scalable."
