Hanger Meets on Revenues, Misses on EPS
Hanger (NYS: HGR) reported earnings on July 31. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended June 30 (Q2), Hanger met expectations on revenues and missed estimates on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue increased. Non-GAAP earnings per share grew. GAAP earnings per share contracted significantly.
Margins contracted across the board.
Hanger reported revenue of $273.7 million. The six analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ wanted to see a top line of $271.4 million on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 8.7% higher than the prior-year quarter's $251.8 million.

EPS came in at $0.52. The six earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.56 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.52 for Q2 were 4.0% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.50 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.40 for Q2 were 20% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.50 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 36.9%, 100 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 13.5%, 70 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 5.1%, 180 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $270.1 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.58.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $1.07 billion. The average EPS estimate is $2.09.
