EPS came in at $0.68. The eight earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.66 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.68 for Q2 were 4.6% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.65 per share. (The prior-year quarter included $0.08 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.) GAAP EPS of $0.51 for Q2 were 4.1% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.49 per share. (The prior-year quarter included $0.08 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.)

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 27.8%, 250 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 9.1%, 160 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 5.6%, 10 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.59 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.69.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $6.32 billion. The average EPS estimate is $2.75.
