Nash Finch Beats Up on Analysts Yet Again

EPS came in at $0.64. The two earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.49 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.64 for Q2 were 7.2% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.69 per share. GAAP EPS were $0.68 for Q2 compared to -$6.55 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 8.3%, 30 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 1.5%, 10 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 0.7%, 840 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.48 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.88.
