TripAdvisor (NAS: TRIP) reported earnings on July 24. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.52. The 24 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.49 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.52 for Q2 were 27% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.41 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.46 for Q2 were 24% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.37 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 98.3%, 20 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 38.1%, 430 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 27.1%, 20 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $258.1 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.45.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $937.7 million. The average EPS estimate is $1.71.
