Matthews International Beats Analyst Estimates on EPS

EPS came in at $0.72. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.70 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.72 for Q3 were 11% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.65 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.65 for Q3 were 12% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.58 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 36.5%, 210 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 12.3%, 20 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 7.2%, much about the same as the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $256.4 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.75.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $991.2 million. The average EPS estimate is $2.45.
