Disney's ESPN is the undisputed global brand when it comes to sports programming, but News Corp.  wants to challenge that next month when it introduces FOX Sports 1.

The new channel -- replacing the poorly followed Speed channel -- is lining up ambitious live sports programming, and it's also charging less than 20% of what ESPN does to cable and satellite television providers per viewer.
