Create A Luxe Headband For Greek Goddess Glamour!
If you’re looking to shine a little brighter this summer, a metallic feather headband is a chic accessory that will give you that extra glow.
If you don’t already have a headband, you can find one at any beauty store. You’ll also need your trusty hot glue gun, a bag of feathers, scissors, and an 18-carat gold pen, which you can get at most fine art supply stores.
Give your pen a few shakes and then paint the feathers with long, even strokes, going with the grain. Obviously, you’ll want to do this on a surface that won’t be ruined by splash of gold paint.
Allow your gilded feathers to dry for at least ten minutes. P.S. - you can use an old piece of styrofoam as a drying rack.
Put two dabs of hot glue on the back of a large feather and secure about 1½ inches from the bottom of the headband. Remember, with hot glue, a little goes a long way.
Gradually layer feathers upward on both sides of the headband, using progressively smaller feathers until both ends meet in the middle. Smaller feathers are great for covering any parts of the headband that still peek out.
Use your scissors to clip the bottoms of any of the feathers that protrude too much. And inevitably, you’ll need to Midas touch-up a few areas with your gold pen.
Finally, trim away any of the frayed edges and shape each feather into a crisp, clean form.
Get inspired, get creative and you can be a Greek Goddess this summer.
