Telecom company AT&T has appointed a new member to its Board of Directors. Cindy B. Taylor will act on the board's Audit Committee, and is currently serving as CEO, president, and director of Oil States International, a solutions provider in the gas and oil industry.

Taylor held the roles of treasurer and senior vice president-chief financial officer for Oil States from 2000 to 2006, and from 2006 to 2007 she acted as its chief operating officer and president. She also has experience working in public accounting for Ernst and Young.

AT&T's chairman and chief executive officer, Randall Stephenson, said in a statement that Taylor is a "terrific" new pick for the company's board, and expects her "successful leadership of Oil States and experience and expertise in finance, accounting and international business" will further hone the overall skill set of the AT&T's board.
