Seattle's Best Coffee and Inventure Foods have put blended coffee drinks called "Frozen Coffee Blends" in grocery, club, and mass merchandise stores nationwide, they announced this week.

Made with arabica beans, the smoothie drink features four coffee flavors: Coffee Chiller, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla, and Mega Mocha. The companies suggest adding your own ingredients along with milk, like frozen fruit or peanut butter. The suggested retail price ranges from $2.99-$3.49 for a package of two, eight-ounce servings.
"This represents the first time a premium coffee brand has crossed over into the frozen section of the grocery store," said Steve Sklar, senior vice president of marketing for Inventure Foods, the licensee and manufacturer of the frozen coffee blends.

As noted in February, when Seattle's Best announced its partnership with Inventure Foods, the new product is an effort to capture growing demand. Last year, the market for blended coffee drinks stood at $4.3 billion, according to the companies. Given Inventure Foods' background in creating similar products for T.G.I. Friday's and Boulder Canyon Foods, Starbucks hopes to help further the goal of "bringing great coffee everywhere customers need it."
