Can Microsoft DRM About-Face Save the Xbox One?

If gamers were already frustrated by Microsoft's lack of focus on actual gaming when it first unveiled the Xbox One, they were furious when the tech giant priced the system at $499 and detailed surprisingly restrictive digital rights management policies to be imposed on the console.

To make things worse, Sony stepped out shortly afterward with its PlayStation 4, and it not only undercut the Xbox One's price by $100, but it also assured gamers their console wouldn't incorporate similar DRM restrictions.

As a result, we shouldn't be surprised Microsoft caved to gamers' demands by removing two key DRM policies last week, says Fool contributor Steve Symington in the following interview with the Fool's Erin Miller.
