Andrew Lau joins KMG Chemicals as Vice President

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- KMG Chemicals, Inc. (NYS: KMG) , a leading supplier of specialty chemicals to select markets, announced that Andrew Lau has joined the Company's executive team as Vice President responsible for KMG's global Electronic Chemicals business.

A senior executive with more than 15 years of industry experience, Mr. Lau will manage and drive growth within KMG's Electronic Chemicals business, which supplies high purity wet process chemicals to the world's major semiconductor manufacturers. Following the recently completed acquisition of OM Group's Ultra Pure Chemicals (UPC) business, KMG now operates 10 Electronic Chemicals facilities globally, including sites in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Neal Butler, President and CEO of KMG, said, "We are fortunate to have an executive of Andrew's caliber join the KMG team. Andrew has worked in the chemical and electronics industries since 1997 and brings significant international experience in electronic chemicals and other aligned products. Andrew's depth of experience and talent will be instrumental in guiding KMG's recently expanded global Electronic Chemicals business as we strive to meet the evolving needs of our semiconductor customers."

Mr. Butler continued, "Looking ahead, we are optimistic about KMG's long-term growth potential in Asia given the region's significance in global semiconductor production. As semiconductor manufacturers in Asia continue to invest in the region's fabs to meet growing global demand for advanced semiconductor devices, purity requirements for process chemicals are increasing, a trend that plays directly into KMG's strength as a leading supplier of ultra-high purity chemicals. With his extensive background and impressive record of success in Asia, Andrew is the ideal person to lead KMG's global Electronic Chemicals Business."

Mr. Lau most recently worked with Linde LLC where his assignments included President and General Manager of Linde LienHwa in Shanghai from 2010 to 2013 and Head of Global ESG Supply and Greater China Electronics in Taiwan from 2009 to 2010. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Rochester's William E.
