Xplore Technologies Recognized Among 100 Great Supply Chain Projects by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine

The rugged tablet manufacturer was chosen from more than 200 applications

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Xplore Technologies Corp. (NAS: XPLR) , the manufacturer of the world's most powerful, longest-lasting and rugged tablet in the market, announced that it has been honored with the 2013 Supply & Demand Chain 100 Award by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine for producing measurable gains in ROI by cutting costs and increasing efficiency in the supply chain industry.

Xplore was recognized for its work in improving productivity and reducing operational costs for a leading heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions provider. In partnership with S3Edge, Xplore provided custom iX104C5 ultra-rugged tablets with specialized S3Edge software that enabled the client to better manage its product shipping process by enhancing safety and reducing errors, time and cost. Using a RFID system, the client increased productivity loading products into trailers by more than 30 percent.

"Rugged devices are quickly becoming the obvious choice for many industries because of the clear ROI benefits," said Mark Holleran, president and chief operating officer of Xplore Technologies. "It's our goal to create the most powerful and ultra-rugged tablet on the market to compete in any environment and increase operational efficiency for our clients."

Xplore's ultra-rugged tablets are able to withstand the harsh and demanding environments endured in the supply chain and transportation industry. The tablets can be easily docked onto forklifts, a benefit not offered by rugged notebooks. In addition, the ultra-rugged tablets withstand the heavy vibrations of the forklift, endure repeated screen touching and run custom software with a low failure rate.

The submissions were evaluated by the magazine's editorial staff primarily based on: ambitiousness/scope of the project (30 percent); creative application of technologies/solutions/services used (20 percent); extent of the business results/impact (40 percent); and clarity of submission (10 percent). More than 200 projects were submitted for the award.
