Starting this week, Heckmann will be trading under the name Nuverra Environmental Solutions . For investors in the company, though, this shouldn't change a thing. As hydraulic fracturing becomes a larger part of oil and gas operations, the increased use of water is posing problems. The oil and gas industry in the U.S. now uses about two-thirds the amount of water that New York City will use in an entire year.
