TESSCO and BLiNQ Networks Offer a First-to-Market, Licensed, TrueNLOS™ System for Small Cell Backhaul and Premium Access
HUNT VALLEY, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TESSCO Technologies Incorporated (NAS: TESS) , a leading provider of the product and value chain solutions required to build, use and maintain wireless systems, and BLiNQ Networks, Inc., a pioneer in wireless small cell backhaul solutions, have announced that BLiNQ's FCC-approved, point-to-multipoint system operating in the 3.65 GHz band, is now available through TESSCO.
BLiNQ's recent announcement of general availability of the X-100 System, paired with the growing demand for both service provider small cell backhaul and enterprise broadband access, prompted the agreement between the two companies for which TESSCO will serve as a distributor of BLiNQ's Systems for North America. The introduction of the X-100, which supports unrestricted-mode operation and can operate over full 50 MHz of 3.65 GHz spectrum, is a milestone that positions BLiNQ and TESSCO to take advantage of the significant growth in the North American wireless services market.
"TESSCO is pleased to be partnering with BLiNQ Networks to distribute their X-100 wireless system with TrueNLOS capability," TESSCO Vice President Bill Moten said. "This licensed wireless product provides a unique solution for organizations that build wireless networks and those that require broadband access. More importantly, it extends our commitment of offering the most comprehensive selection of outdoor and indoor wireless broadband radios for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, mesh, or SCADA applications."
"We are very excited and look forward to partnering with TESSCO in the U.S. market," BLiNQ Networks CEO and President Mickey Miller said. "TESSCO's strong reputation and broad presence in the North American telecommunications market will serve BLiNQ well as we enter this market with the X-100 and future wireless products."
The X-100 is self-configuring and uses patent-pending interference management technology to maximize capacity and reliability of wireless backhaul and access in true non-line-of-sight conditions. Due to the rapid increase in video and data demands, many fixed and mobile sites are reaching capacity limits, thus creating a need for increased bandwidth to provide a best-in-class user experience. For the first time, mobile operators and enterprise users are able to provide service exactly where it is needed to address this demand, while significantly reducing the time and expense compared to traditional solutions.
TESSCO and BLiNQ are well positioned to capture a significant share of the projected $5 billion outdoor small cell backhaul opportunity. The companies will also target the growing market for premium access solutions in the service-provider, healthcare, energy, and other enterprise sectors, as well as in the government market.
