Curian Capital®Launches Innovative New iPad App for Managed Account Proposals

New mobile application is one of the first in the industry to provide financial advisors with one-stop proposal generation and access to investment strategies, analytical tools

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- For the tech-savvy financial advisor, the days of clunky, desktop-based proposal generation and overwhelming paperwork when creating client portfolios may soon be a thing of the past. Curian Capital, LLC (www.Curian.com) today announced the launch of the new Curian Select Portfolios iPad application ("app"), one of the first in the industry to allow financial advisors to generate on-the-spot proposals for their clients.

The app is designed to help financial advisors increase productivity and efficiency as they generate investment proposals based on their clients' individual needs and goals. The app gives advisors the ability to:

  • Create proposals directly from the iPad anywhere, even without Internet access
  • Review presentation materials with clients in an attractive and easy-to-understand format
  • Select from 25 different account types and six different managed Select Portfolios
  • Capture client information and offer clients the option to sign proposals electronically

"The Select Portfolios iPad app is another example of Curian's commitment to helping financial professionals provide their clients an exceptional level of service through innovative technology solutions," said Chris Rosato, senior vice president of Strategic Development for Curian. "We understand that advisors have limited time and have begun to rely more on mobile technology to help manage their businesses. With this new tool, advisors can present a comprehensive managed account solution and generate a proposal before the client even leaves the meeting, saving time and paperwork on both sides of the table."

The Curian Select Portfolios iPad app has many of the same features available for the Select Portfolios on Curian's existing proposal generation system, allowing advisors to seamlessly transition to the new iPad version. In addition, the app provides investor-facing educational messages and informational videos, including details on Curian's asset management process used in generating its new Select Portfolios.

Curian's Select Portfolios combine multiple goals-based investment strategies into a single, actively-managed and fully diversified investment account, providing financial advisors the ability to evaluate each investor's unique needs and present a custom investment plan based on risk tolerance and investment objectives. The app will provide access to all six of the managed strategies available within the Select Portfolios, which are arrayed across a risk spectrum from conservative to the potential for maximum growth.

"Curian seeks to empower advisors with the tools they need to achieve excellence so in turn, they can help investors achieve success," said Michael Bell, president and chief executive officer for Curian. "Financial advisors and their clients benefit not only from the depth and breadth of Curian's powerful asset management resources, but also from our continued commitment to providing technology that simplifies the investing process. We believe that providing advisors with state-of-the-art technology like this new iPad app will help them more effectively service their clients and successfully build their businesses and increase retention."

The Curian Select iPad app is a free download for financial advisors authorized to do business with Curian, and is available via the Apple iTunes Store, under "Curian Select."
