Nigel Barker's Globetrotting Go-Tos
Mine was a gift from GQ (Smythson of Bond Street) and I first thought what would I need that for but actually it's literally the first thing I pack and the most important travel essential. I keep my passport, my airline tickets, baggage receipts, Airline Frequent Flier cards, foreign currency, a pen and just about any thing I might need to access quickly!
I like the soft oiled canvas bags and my favorite one comes from Jack Spade. Mine is big enough for my 17" laptop and as a result big enough for a lot more too. Get one with a shoulder strap but also with handles so you don't need to ruin your jacket if you've stuffed your carry on for a weekend getaway.
Flying from New York to Paris might sound glamorous but only if you do it in style! I spend many months of the year away from home traveling to both exotic and mundane locations, so regardless of the class I am flying in, there are a few things I always take for the trip that help me travel with style.
