A gym basic but you need to make sure they are not too shear. The number of times I have seen too much on the stretching mats due to transparency or thinning leggings I don't want to count, so make sure you replace before they get too old and get a good relatively thick pair!

I love the sneakers that you can personalize yourself online. Puts an end to everyone having the same shoes and you can easily coordinate with your whole gym look. I have made several pairs for friends and family.

I personally like the in ear bud headphones as you can properly work out with them. I know the sound of the music may be better in the giant over the ear noise canceling headsets but when it comes to doing crunches they can become a real issue!

A simple T-shirt to wear over your work out gear can help you transition from your work out look into a more fashionable look when you've finished your workout and you're headed home come the spring. I am a fan of lightweight round neck T-shirts that come just to your waist line no longer.

The choices are endless but I think for the ladies the technically advanced no show socks are best for form and function. They come with special fibers to help keep the feet dry and best of all no one has to see them as they sit below your ankles!

A fun accessory that not only keeps your hair out of your face but can match your workout gear. The most important thing is to find a headband that doesn't slip mid stride.

A vital piece of any serious athletes kit that once filled stop you from having to waist precious time at the water fountain. I prefer Camelbaks with the flip up and down built in straw.

You want one that has style and function, with a bit of color, a breathable fabric and with enough room for your water bottle, shoes and potentially your laptop. Stella McCartney did a great bag in collaboration with Adidas.

There can be little more cares than a face full of makeup when you are sweating away doing lunges in a core fusion class, but I highly recommend a good moisturizer for your face and body pre-workout and a water spritzer for your face during your workout.

Now what you wear to the gym can be a lot more than functional, especially for those of you who wear it all-day-long. Not to mention that, to many, the gym is the modern bar albeit just with smoothies and juices on the menu!
