Leading Ladies of the Oscars and their Award Winning Style
This year, the nominees for Best Actress in a Movie are making history. Nine year old Quvenzhané Wallis became the youngest person ever to be nominated, while Jennifer Lawrence, at 22, became the youngest person to be nominated twice for Best Actress, after receiving her first nomination in 2010 for "Winter's Bone." Also making history is Emmanuelle Riva for "Amour," who is the oldest Best Actress nominee ever at age 85. Actresses Naomi Watts for "The Impossible" and Jessica Chastain for "Zero Dark Thirty" round out the list of nominees.
This group of incredible and groundbreaking actresses all have one thing in common (besides their stellar acting abilities): they know how to stand out on the red carpet. Even at the tender age of nine, Quvenzhane Wallis has a signature accessory, her stuffed animal dog purse. The actress admits that she has nearly 50 purses like it and takes them wherever she goes. Emmanuelle Riva has been seen less on the red carpet, but recently has appeared at several events wearing comfortable frocks. We expect a lot from the other nominees Jennifer, Naomi, and Jessica. These experts on the red carpet have arrived in style wearing Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, and Alexander McQueen (to name a few).
Check out these leading ladies and their Oscar winning looks. For those who have never been to the Oscars (aka, 9-year-old Wallis) we made sure to include some incredible photos as well!
