The Gory Details on Mondelez International's Double Fumble
Mondelez International (NAS: MDLZ) reported earnings on Feb. 13. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), Mondelez International missed slightly on revenues and missed estimates on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue dropped significantly and GAAP earnings per share dropped significantly.

EPS came in at $0.36. The 16 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.38 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.30 for Q4 were 36% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.47 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 37.4%, 410 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 9.7%, 410 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 5.6%, 10 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $8.92 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.35.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $36.79 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.57.
The stock has a five-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 128 members out of 132 rating the stock outperform, and four members rating it underperform.
