Backstage at Herve Leger: Inside the Collection and the Beauty Look
On Day 3 of New York Fashion Week, we got to catch up with Herve Leger designer Max Azria and Sephora PRO makeup artist Erik Soto on what makes the Fall/Winter 2013 collection really stand out.
"Evolvement," said Azria, who designs the line in conjunction with wife Lubov. "More jackets, more pants, more leggings," said the designer, referring to the show's differences from last fall's collection. "We always want to be moving on to the next thing."
Inspired this year by nature, the designer used rich, earthy hues of green, navy, black, and neutrals to convey a relaxed, yet opulent collection of beaded, flowing dresses and separates.
To match the easy, glamorous aesthetic of Azria's designs, Sephora PRO makeup artists created a breezy, natural, makeup look."This girl is a beach girl, she's a surfer, she just rolls out of bed and puts on a little bit of foundation," said Soto.
The Sephora PRO team used an illuminating highlighter and bronzer to create the perfect dewy, sun-kissed look. The all-natural look called for minimal eye make-up, save for a little bit of bronzer on lids to add dimension, and a nude liner to brighten inner rims. The look is topped off with a swipe of Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick in a cool shade of taupe.
Soto's tip for completing the look is to use the Beauty Blender, a pink sponge that blends makeup seamlessly, eliminating any texture. Click through the gallery to see all the products that were used to create the beauty look at Herve Leger, so you can recreate the look yourself.
