FarmVille TV showZynga has once again come down with a case of FarmVille fever. As if a mobile rendition of FarmVille 2 weren't enough, the game publisher has teamed up with director Brett Ratner (of Hercules fame) to create an animated FarmVille television show. The duo has enlisted the help of Canadian production house Six Eleven Media to get the TV show rolling.

"FarmVille is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless. I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience," Ratner said in a statement, Deadline reports. It seems that no network is currently attached to the potential FarmVille show.

That said, we would count on a FarmVille show to go straight to cable, but Ratner and crew could prove otherwise. This brings up another question: What the hell kind of audience would it cater to? Adults--the primary FarmVille fan base--generally steer away from cartoons unless they have a mature skew, and there's not much about FarmVille that's like, say, The Simpsons. If one thing is for certain, it's that Zynga and Ratner plan to tackle quite a challenge. Then again, this is like that time rumor had it that a FarmVille movie was happening--that was over a year ago.
