Crystal Harris, the wife of Hugh Hefner announced on January 31st that she plans on auctioning off her pink wedding gown to raise money for cancer research. The announcement comes after "Mansion Mother" Mary O'Connor passed away on January 29th. Mary worked as Hugh Hefner's secretary for nearly 40 years. She was seen in numerous episodes of E's hit show, "The Girls Next Door."
In her December 31st nuptials, Harris wore a gorgeous strapless, floor-length mermaid-style Romona Keveza gown and shoes, valued at $7,500 dollars according to Charity Buzz. Crystal tweeted, "I am auctioning my wedding dress with @charitybuzz to raise money for lymphoma in memory of Mary". The bidding is on Friday, February 1st stood at $2,500.
Crystal isn't the only celebrity to auction off her dress. Actress Tisha Campbell-Martin also auctioned her wedding gown for charity; she donated the proceeds to benefit the Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's New Village Leadership Academy. Celebrities have also been known to sell a wedding dress to get rid of memories after a not so happy ending. Model Christie Brinkley auctioned off her Armani Skirt Suit, accessories and garments after her divorce from Peter Cook.
