During the 2006 Spring Summer runway show, Alexander McQueen walked his own runway with a “We Love You Kate” t-shirt after Kate Moss was caught doing cocaine and quickly released from several large contracts including Chanel and Burberry.

This intricate headpiece and tartan inspired wear looked beautiful and awe-inspiring walking down the runway.

McQueen pays homage to his mentor, Isabella Blow by creating intricate headpiece with with red butterflies. These headpieces have been since modified and have been seen on several high-profile British socialites at several weddings.

McQueen’s muse, Isabella Blow took her own life in May 2007 and McQueen paid homage to her with bright colors and feathers.

At the end of McQueen’s Spring 2009 show, McQueen went to take his bow in a bunny suit with some other animal friends.  While we are used to seeing designers take their bow in demure clothing, McQueen is no stranger to unconventional outfits.

In his last major show before he died, McQueen shocked audiences as he sent down the Spring 2010 runway models with gravity-defying hair wearing futuristic, reptile-patterned, digitally printed dresses and incredibly made 10-inch Armadillo heels.

Designer Alexander McQueen never failed to shock and thrill the audience members of his runway shows. His designs have bridged the gap between fashion and art by creating emotional, raw, and powerful clothing and runways. He was honored with countless awards including four British Designer of the Year awards and the CFDA's International Designer of the Year in 2003. McQueen's designs have been wore by countless celebrity fans including Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Watson, and First Lady Michelle Obama.

McQueen's over the top runway shows have been a staple during every fashion week. His models have walked with wolves, been drenched in water on-stage and have had to walk with some very intricate head wear.
