WellCare Health Plans Chooses TriZetto's End-to-End Technology and Services to Optimize Member Care and Provider Contracting

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The TriZetto Group, Inc., today announced that WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYS: WCG) , a leading provider of managed care services for government-sponsored healthcare programs, has chosen an integrated solution set from TriZetto to enhance care coordination. WellCare expects the technology and service solutions will be an asset in its commitment to continually improve the quality of care and service it provides to its members.

"TriZetto's care-management solution will enable WellCare to maintain a complete view of each member's health and provides the type of technology that we need to succeed," said Kirk Cianciolo, D.O., WellCare's vice president of health services. "WellCare is dedicated to helping our members access the right care at the right time in the appropriate setting through coordinated care teams and community partnerships."

TriZetto's integrated solution set will also help the company maximize value for its providers. "With TriZetto's contract-modeling solution, we expect greater consistency in the evaluation of provider contracts," said Michael Gerasimovich, WellCare's vice president of contract analytics. "We also plan to leverage automation to negotiate more contracts in less time to strengthen relationships with our provider community."

The care-management and contract-modeling solutions will go live in early 2013. A TriZetto consulting services team will employ the firm's rigorous implementation methodology, said Jake Sorg, senior vice president of consulting services at TriZetto.

"It's a proprietary approach that incorporates best practices from TriZetto's real-world experience in implementing more than 800 applications over the years," he said. "This framework helps ensure stable operations while accelerating implementations. It integrates five phases and five solution tracks with a sequencing model to deliver the business results that our clients demand."
