While pouring over Prada's spring 2013 show, we couldn't help but get distracted by the...uh...quirky footwear. Inspired by traditional Japanese geta shoes, the embellished flatform sandals, which Miuccia sent down the runway over metallic socks, looked a little tough–if not impossible–to pull off.

Proving us wrong last night was the inimitable Elle Fanning. Thankfully, she left the metallic socks at home, but other than that she's wearing a head-to-toe look from the collection and, if you ask us, she looks pretty flawless.

We're not sure if there's anything Elle can't pull off, but the bizarre shoes seem to add just the right amount of quirk and youthfulness to the more grown up-looking dress.

Do you agree, or should she have gone with a simpler shoe?
