BioWare Brings the Highest Rated Game of 2012* to the Wii U With Mass Effect 3 SpecialEdition
Experience Commander Shepard's Journey this Holiday in an Enhanced Version for the Wii U
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The ultimate Mass Effect™ 3 experience has officially arrived on Nintendo's newest console! From BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NAS: EA) , the Mass Effect 3 Special Edition has been enhanced for the Nintendo Wii U™ home console, giving players more tactical control of combat through the Wii U™ GamePad and also adds bonus content, including an interactive comic that gives players the back story to Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Adding all of this to a game that has won more than 100 awards and received more than 80 perfect scores makes the Mass Effect 3 Special Edition a must-have launch title for the Wii U.
Mass Effect 3 Special Edition on the Wii U introduces an entirely new way to experience Mass Effect3 by using the innovative GamePad. Adding a level of control like never before, players can use the touchpad screen on the GamePad to activate and customize the abilities for their team, view enemies on the tactical mini map, and command squad members to move by pointing and dragging to a new location. Players can also switch the game view from the TV to the GamePad, playing the entire game right on the controller.
The Mass Effect 3 Special Edition also includes six pieces of bonus content. For the first time ever, Genesis II, an interactive motion comic created by Dark Horse Comics, will give players who are new to the franchise the opportunity to experience narrated summaries of the original Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Players will be able to make crucial decisions that will impact each player's story in Mass Effect 3 Special Edition. Also included on disc are Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut and Mass Effect 3: From Ashes single-player DLC packs, as well as three post-release packs for the critically acclaimed Mass Effect 3 multiplayer mode: Mass Effect 3: Resurgence; Mass Effect 3: Rebellion; and Mass Effect 3:Earth.
Mass Effect 3 Special Edition is available now for $59.99 in North America on Nintendo's Wii U console and will be available when the Wii U launches in Europe on November 30 and in Japan on December 8.
