Kindred Healthcare Increases Sales but Misses Estimates on Earnings

EPS came in at $0.21. The eight earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.26 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.14 for Q3 were 367% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.03 per share. (The prior-year quarter included $0.02 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.)

For the quarter, gross margin was 33.2%, 30 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 2.7%, 80 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 0.5%, 40 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.57 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.43.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $6.23 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.48.
