Tyler Technologies rises 40 spots from 2011 ranking

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYS: TYL) announced today that it has again been named to the Forbes list of the "100 Best Small Companies in America." Tyler ranks No. 36 on the list in 2012, which is 40 spots higher than Tyler's ranking last year. Tyler has been named to the Forbes list five times during the past six years. The complete list is available on the Forbes website.

To qualify as a "100 Best Small Companies" candidate, a company must have revenues of $5 million to $1 billion, be publicly traded for at least a year, and have a share price above $5. The criteria used to judge the candidates include return on equity, sustained sales and earnings growth in the past 12 months and over five years, and stock performance versus each company's peer group, among other measures.

"We are honored to again be named by Forbes as one of the best small companies in America," said John S. Marr Jr., president and chief executive officer of Tyler Technologies. "Our significantly higher ranking in this year's list speaks to our consistent performance and growth, which results from the value-creating and long-term relationships we develop with our clients. Tyler's domain expertise in the public sector is second to none, and our commitment to providing modern software and the best services to our clients drives Tyler's consistent performance as recognized by our ranking on the Forbes list."
