Astec Industries Misses on Both Revenue and Earnings
Astec Industries (NAS: ASTE) reported earnings on Oct. 26. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.30. The eight earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.42 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.30 for Q3 were 12% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.34 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 21.8%, 20 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 4.2%, about the same as the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 3.0%, 60 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $275.6 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.54.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $1.04 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.90.
The stock has a five-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 270 members out of 282 rating the stock outperform, and 12 members rating it underperform.
