Facebook Game Face-off: The Hardest of the Core Round 2
The first round of our first-ever hardcore-focused, bracket-style Facebook Game Face-off had plenty of upsets. We're quite surprised by some of the results, but we'd be more surprised if the victors weren't worthy competitors. First off, Rebel Entertainment's Dungeon Rampage crushed Outernauts by Insomniac Games and EA with a whopping 1,000 vote lead.
Next in line is the mighty Zynga, whose Empires & Allies was ousted Tencent Boston and Stomp Games's Robot Rising by over 200 votes. Third was a match between two bitter rivals, Kixeye and Kabam, which saw the former's War Commander come out on top over the latter's Dragons of Atlantis by nearly 200 votes. Finally, Blue Mammoth Games Dungeon Blitz managed to sneak past Playdom and Disney's Marvel: Avengers Alliance with a mere 86 votes.
Now, let's get down with another face-off! (Voting ends at 12 p.m. EST on Thursday, Nov. 1.)
Dungeon Rampage vs. Robot RisingTwo newcomers to the hardcore social gaming space (two action RPGs, no less) now vie for your love ... or something like that. While both Robot Rising and Dungeon Rampage have years of console and PC game experience behind them, they're both games that have released on Facebook in the past six months. Which do you like crushing more: Orcs or robots? You decide.
War Commander vs. Dungeon BlitzA strategy game against a side-scrolling action RPG? This could get interesting. The darling of the core games movement on Facebook, War Commander, goes head-to-head against Dungeon Blitz, one of the new kids on the block. Is the new hotness enough to trump the tried-and-true? That depends on you.
